Income Tax officials conducted searches at the house of Tangedco’s financial controller V Kasi and 40 other locations linked to contractors and suppliers of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) as well as private firms across the state.
Sources told TNIE the searches were related to evasion of tax and had nothing to do with politics. Kasi is a close aide of jailed minister Senthil Balaji.
