Two Fake GST Officers nabbed in Hyderabad

The Balanagar Special Operations Team has arrested a racket involving two persons. The two individuals were allegedly faking the identity of two GST officials. They cheated several people under this disguise. The police report states that these two fake officers convinced people to invest in business transactions promising them that items such as gold, cement, steel and liquor were given without GST to gain extra profits.  

These two arrested individuals have cheated 18 victims and carried out transactions worth ₹28 crores.  
 
One of the accused individuals is 57-year-old Burujukindi Narayana Goud of Rajanna Sircilla district, and the other is 37-year-old Merugu Shailaja of Warangal district. Under the guise of GST officials, they made people buy gold and other expensive items at lower prices that were seized by the customs department. 

Police have seized three mobile phones, a car, ATM cards and Rs 20,000 cash. A case has also been registered. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Balanagar) G Sandeep stated that these two would collect huge amounts from their victims and escape. He added that they used to collect huge amounts of money and cheat the commoners. They collected money from people and promised to arrange jobs in GST and government sectors.
