The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has allowed 1,270 applications from the Chartered Accountants (CA) and Company Secretary (CS) professional institutions to merge the multiple IDs in the V2 portal with a new user ID in V3. The ministry has approved the professional institutions’ appeals to disable or combine duplicate user IDs. This action was taken to enable these professionals to submit their corporate information using the updated MCA 21 portal, which now only permits individual IDs for each user. Previous software versions had permitted the use of multiple IDs, causing various challenges.
On July 12, 2023, the MCA released a circular addressed to the presidents of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), and Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) directing the members of these institutes to merge their multiple IDs in the V-2 Portal with their new user ID in the V-3 Portal and also deactivate their old user IDs in the V-2 Portal. This Ministry has become aware that numerous members from the three institutes, namely the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, have generated multiple user IDs when conducting transactions on the current MCA21-V2 portal.
As per the circular, the MCA has received the applications mentioned earlier from the CA and CS institutes. Within one month of issuing the circular, the ministry has given the green light to a total of 1,270 applications up to now.
The necessary changes in the user ID in V3 portal in such cases shall be done based on recommendations forwarded by the President or Vice-president of the institute to [email protected].
